Cancer screening for dense breasts

Breast density is considered a breast cancer risk factor because there is more connective tissue than fatty tissue which may make it difficult to see tumors on mammography alone. In women with dense breasts, ultrasounds should be considered in addition to mammography. Women’s Center for Radiology is proactive in informing you of your risk factor and options.

Just a short note to say thanks to you for taking the time to calm me down at the time I came in for the ultrasound. Every year I go into a tailspin! I try to work through the fear but it becomes more difficult … a special thanks to the wonderful technicians …
